Oil-free scroll air compressors are a type of motor-driven compressor that use advanced scroll technology to compress air without oil or silicone contamination. They are considered a new and highly efficient type of air compressor, and have several advantages over traditional oil-lubricated compressors.


Oil-free scroll air compressors are a specialized type of air compressor designed to produce clean, oil-free compressed air. They are widely used in industries where the presence of even trace amounts of oil in the compressed air can be detrimental, such as the electronics, pharmaceutical, and food processing industries. 


Working Principle

Scroll Design:

Fixed and Orbital Scrolls: An oil-free scroll air compressor consists of two spiral-shaped scrolls: one fixed scroll and one orbital scroll. The orbital scroll moves in a circular motion without rotating, creating a series of expanding and contracting volumes between the scrolls.

Compression Process: As the orbital scroll moves, it traps pockets of air between the scrolls. These pockets of air are gradually compressed as they move towards the center of the scrolls. The compressed air is then discharged through an outlet port.


Oil-Free Operation:

No Lubrication in Air Path: Unlike oil-lubricated compressors, oil-free scroll compressors do not introduce oil into the air path. This is achieved by using materials and designs that minimize friction and wear without the need for oil.

Sealing Mechanism: The scrolls are designed with tight tolerances to ensure a seal between the moving parts, preventing air leakage and maintaining compression efficiency.
